Lucy Bee Skincare Routine
A Step by Step Guide
All three products are to be used morning and night, for best results. Consistency is key, when using skincare.
I really do believe the secret to younger looking skin and a healthy complexion lies in your cleansing routine. I have always been a firm believer of the importance of cleansing twice a day, morning and night. If you’re a gym-goer, then I’d recommend cleansing after working out too, due to the build-up of sweat – cleansing will help to unblock the pores.
Cleansing removes dirt, sweat and grime that builds up on the skin throughout the course of the day. It also removes makeup, pollutants and dead skin cells. The top layer of our skin, the epidermis, is made up of dead skin cells so removing these helps with the complexion, prevention of blocked pores and aging. It also means that any other products you use will absorb into the skin better, making them more effective.
Rub the cleanser in damp hands and massage onto your face and neck, then remove with warm water using your Lucy Bee Muslin Cloth.
In the morning, one cleanse is usually enough but at night, I always do two if I have had makeup on. So do the same thing again, making sure you target the whole face and neck and remove all of your makeup.
Dry with a hand towel, be careful not to drag the skin or be too harsh or heavy-handed. It is important to remove ALL the cleanser from the skin, you should not leave it on there and your face should be completely dry before applying the tonic.
Using a tonic/toner is really important, it should be in your daily routine, especially the Lucy Bee Tonic as it’s more than just your standard toner. You use it after cleansing your face to remove any dirt and grime you may have missed. Water unbalances your natural pH level, so the toner is used to balance it out again which will help absorb the rest of the skincare products you use, giving you a better result. It also helps to minimize pores and tighten the skin. A tightening sensation is normal with this product.
The Lucy Bee Dazzling Tonic, has been given an extra sparkle, as it has ACB Fruit Mix and Lactic Acid in it, also known as AHA’s. This product will increase the skin cell renewal rate, remove dead skin cells at a faster rate and help to clear and remove rubbish from the skin by unclogging the pores and removing a build-up of dirt, grime and excess sebum. This will in turn help with the overall complexion – minimizing pores, blackheads, bumps and spots. Cell renewal will help with the appearance of the skin, to give an all-over clearer, smoother complexion – fine lines, pigmentation, pores, dull, tired looking skin. This product will transform your skin. You may find you can feel tingly and when you start using this, it is perfectly normal and the product working its magic. We have a blog on AHA’s on the blog section.
If you are new to this type of product, start by using less, and build up. Put the product on cotton pads or hands and apply all over your face and neck morning and night for best results, or use once a day if your skin needs to get used to it.
Using a face cream morning and night will help keep your skin hydrated. It will help keep your skin looking younger, fresher and brighter. All three products have been formulated with key ingredients, to complement each other and give the best result.
Make sure the tonic has sunk into the skin (you shouldn’t feel this product on your skin, if you can it is an indication your skin was still damp/wet or you have used too much). Apply face cream to your fingers and apply to your face, neck and décolleté morning and night.
We recommend to apply SPF sun cream after your face cream. Lucy Bee do not currently do an SPF.
